According to Cap Friendly's list of impeding expired-rights players, Dove-McFalls would be the lone CHL-affiliated top 100 pick in the 2015 Draft to not be offered an entry-level contract. - bmeltzer
Team Negative will love this. |

Lindblom is a stud. Arguably the best player in the SHL playoffs this year. Will be great for u guys. Good character aswell. |

Wouldn't mind seeing this line someday:
Lindblom-Patrick or Hischier-Konecny

I might slide VDV on the wing there...

I have only seen a few of his games in the WJR's...he definitely had an eye for the net. From all accounts I keep reading leads me to believe he has taken another step forward. The Flyers could really use an infusion of skill up front.

Well, you do need a responsible player to go along with the risky offense on that line. Plus the hockey people did play VdV three full seasons with the Flyers. Obviously he is a good player and I'm fine with what they've done there. |

Dove-McFalls is more worthy of an ELC than Pettersson or Goulbourne were, but unfortunately for him the Flyers are getting deep at forward prospects now.
Nico/Nolan and Lindblom will sign an ELC this summer, and Kase might also.
In 18-19 Rubtsov, Laberge, and Bunnaman will be 20 and ready to go pro. Allison, Marody and Laczyznski might also be ready to leave college depending on their development.
And the Flyers will have to make a decision by 6/1/18 on Twarynski and Salinitri. |

I see what you did there.
Why don't you just set us all on fire with a phosphorous bomb. That would be a less painful thought than having He Who Must Not Be Scratched back in this lineup. |

Honestly, depending on the expansion draft/trades/camp, I'd have no problem with VDV as the 13th/14th forward. My biggest issue was his inability to be healthy scratched when every other player outside of the top line, veteran and rookie alike, were deemed worthy. |

I think the word you're looking for is "consistency." He is consistently good at nothing. |

The only issue I have with VDV is what he brings to table.....I think they can upgrade the position. As far as the non scratching, that's the coaches prerogative. Considering they had a disappointing year I think everyone should look in the mirror and ask themselves what they can change or do better....including the coach.

so of they don't sign dove-mcfails it is because of the organizational depth and not that it was a bad pick.
if he had any potential then he would be signed imo. You always find room for players you think will make it in some capacity.
no great shakes if they pass. that's how it goes. |

I agree, I'd like better options. Just stating that my issue was more so how he was immune from scratching than his actual play (not that I was thrilled with it). |

I for one, would like to see VdV on Giroux's wing on the top line.
Oh yes... yes I would.

They can only hand out 50 NHL contracts (includes slide players and AHL players). Years ago, they didn't have the same amount of higher-end prospects so they could throw them at more role player types. Now, they have to be a bit more pickier.
He projects as an NHL 3rd/4th liner with limited offensive upside. The best option would be to offer him an AHL contract with a chance to transfer it to an NHL one a la VandeVelde. |

That's the problem. If Chris Vandevelde comes back, it will be to play every night. We spoke of VDV the same way last summer. It's best not to bring him back. |
